Here's How to Fix that Windows 11 File Explorer Glitch

Laptop screen displays "Windows 11 FIX FOR THE GLITCH" in bold blue and green text. Desktop background with blurred office setting.

If your business recently installed the Windows 11 version 24H2 update, you might have run into an irritating issue with File Explorer.

File Explorer is the familiar window you use to browse files and folders. Typically, it works seamlessly, but some users are noticing problems with the “See more” menu, marked by three dots.

This menu, which should pop up neatly below your cursor to provide options like “Select All” or “View Properties,” has been glitching. Instead, it’s flying to the top of the screen—sometimes completely disappearing. If you’re using File Explorer in full-screen mode, this bug might even prevent you from seeing the menu options altogether.

It’s a frustrating issue, especially when you’re trying to get work done efficiently.

Fortunately, there’s a simple workaround for now: switch File Explorer to windowed mode. To do this, click the square icon in the top-right corner (just beside the “X” to close the window). By resizing File Explorer, you can access the “See more” menu, even if it’s acting up.

The good news? Microsoft is already aware of this bug and is actively working on a fix.
